Coming from a person who believes in the death penalty and believes that it should not be abolished it is a hard topic to discuss considering it is such a controversial and uneasy topic within our society today. I believe in the death penalty because i believe that it brings a certain amount of justice to a victims family and it also helps in some way to deter future crimes from happening. Also it's taking very dangerous people off the streets and keeping them from causing any harm ever again. Now people will say that it is an inhumane and cruel act to use the death penalty, but inhumanity didn't stop criminals from killing. People will also say to wrongs don't equal a right so in other words killing someone because they killed a person doesn't make it right, but I ask you where is the victims families justice in this? In my eyes there's nothing wrong with the death penalty but that in actuality it brings a certain amount of justice.

As a person who has seen the death penalty in action and seen how unreliable and horrifying it can be, I believe that it should be abolished now. I believe that nobody should have to die because of a mistake they made. Killing somebody for "justice" is not justice it is just another wrong on top of the first one and two wrongs does not equal a right. True justice would be to put that person away in prison for the rest of their lives where they can live with the choices they made and the people that they have hurt. This is justice because those people will be haunted with the decisions they made and with what they have done whereas with the death penalty they get a quick and easy out of the pain and suffering they have caused and with death they don't have to deal with the consequences that come with their decision. So I reiterate that I believe that the death penalty should be abolished as soon as possible.
